Swiftpoint ProPoint firmware Update process using an Android phone or tablet.

Requirements:

Open this page on your Android device. 

Download the two attachments

Placing ProPoint into Firmware upgrade mode

First practice placing the mouse into Firmware upgrade mode. 

The mouse can be returned to normal function by switching the mouse off then on again.

Summary of process

  1. Hold down the front and middle buttons with your left hand
  2. Switch the mouse off
  3. Move the switch to the middle position
  4. Turn the scroll wheel two clicks clockwise
  5. Flick the scroll wheel at least two clicks counter-clockwise
  6. The LEDs should be solid red indicating Firmware update mode

Details of process

Once you can reliably get ProPoint into the Update Mode continue with the rest of the process.

Setup:

  1. Click here to download the nRF Toolbox :- https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=no.nordicsemi.android.mcp&hl=en_US
  2. The required firmware update zip files are above. One starting with “V1-05_Part1”* and the other “V1_05_Part2”*. Transfer them to the nRF Toolbox.
    * File names may differ.

Open the nRF Toolbox and start the DFU Mode

SELECT FILE

PART 1 – Open file selection

PART 2 – Make file selection

PLACE THE MOUSE IN UPLOAD MODE AS DESCRIBED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROCESS

  1. Hold down the front and middle buttons with your left hand
  2. Switch the mouse off
  3. Move the switch to the middle position
  4. Turn the scroll wheel two clicks clockwise
  5. Flick the scroll wheel backwards
  6. The LEDs should be solid red indicating Firmware update mode

Select the Device to upload to

  1. Press SELECT DEVICE to see the list of connections
  2. Select DfuTarg

Upload file to the device

  1. Press Upload
  2. Upload should begin after a few seconds

The last step of the process is to upload the second firmware file (V1_04Part2.zip*) in the same manner as we just did the first.

Now return to the nRF Toolbox app then Click on the inbox and select the “V1_04-Part2.*”—- file and press Done
* File names may differ.

  1. Put your ProPoint back into firmware upgrade mode
  2. Press SELECT DEVICE to see the list of connections
  3. Select DfuG4
  4. Press Upload
  5. Upload should begin after a few seconds

Select File to Upload

Select the device to Upload to

  1. Switch your mouse ON, and the LED should be solid RED
  2. Press SELECT DEVICE to see the list of connections
  3. Select DfuG4

Complete the upload process

  1. Press Upload
  2. Upload should begin after a few seconds

You should receive a confirmation that the Upload has been successful.

Getting started again

The BluetoothPairing should still be stored in you mouse but need to be selected.

  1. Switch on your mouse.
  2. If it does not connect to your computer:  Switch OFF, PRESS and HOLD the middle button, Switch ON, RELEASE the middle mouse button.
  3. If you more than one pairing stored in you mouse you may need to do this process more than once.
