I used the Logitech as my main mouse, but the Swift Point is such a beautiful and well-designed mouse. I know I will use this as my main. So well designed. Definitely worth the price.
Here are the things I wished I would've learned before buying:
Cons:
The OLED stopped working pretty quickly into using it but talking with customer support they explain that it is a common issue that can be fixed. Yet if the OLED is still not functional it would be covered by it's warranty.
It's got an extremely steep learning curve, the first month of use I constantly kept misclicking. Due to the placement of the buttons I find that the most comfortable way to hold this mouse is claw grip which wasn't something I was used to.
It's incredibly difficult to use for any fps game. You will constantly misclick or can't hit a button fast enough. This took me at least a month to get over. The best solution to this is to either swap the buttons for the included low profile ones or to just remove the buttons all together.
The mouse has a lot of crevices where it can accumulate grime or dust. There are areas that are annoying to clean. You might think maybe the guy leaving this review is gross, no man, your fingers shed skin and if youre holding a mouse for a long time you're definitely going to notice the buildup.
Pros:
The swappable feet are cool and fun to play with in single player or adventure games. Although I can't say this would ever be useful in any sort of environment that isn't gaming.
I believe the software is probably the best thing this mouse has to offer. The amount of customizability it has is incredible. You get to make any button do anything you want. Additionally they provide two different interphases to the software depending on your use and intentions.
The amount of buttons is great, when I bought it I didn't know you could program a button to do more than one thing based on the amount of pressure. This was delightful to experiment with.
It's a big mouse. This mouse is CHUNKY, I have decently big hands and struggle finding a mouse where I can hold it and not feel like I'm working with a kids toy. This mouse has weight and size to it making it feel a lot better quality. Although heavy mouses might not be everyone's thing.
It's incredible for office work, once you get over the learning curve you really work significantly faster and touch a keyboard significantly less, I've used it working with Photoshop and different design softwares and its great.
It's good for games once you have actually gotten used to using it. I would mainly suggest it for very causal or single player games
Their customer support is also incredibly good and kind. They seem more than willing to find a solution to any problem you might be facing and prompt you to say what can change
Final thoughts:
This mouse is decent, it's a very good hybrid mouse. Yet the pricepoint, learning curve, and how uncomfortable it feels initially brought it down for me. I would recommend this if you work in a office environment and enjoy playing games casually.
I'm still getting used to all of the different things you can do with this mouse. There are so many options it's almost hard to wrap my head around all of the different things you can do. It's an amazing piece of tech.
I have run into problems with the program suddenly turning off buttons and I've had to go back into the setti as and "turn on" the buttons. I don't know if it's a button that I'm pressing or if it's another issue.
Pretty amazing functionality with so much customisation. It does take a bit of getting used to using everything in the mouse and can be tricky to map game controls correctly but when it works, it works well. It isn't cheap but has the most mapping you'll ever need. Definitely one that you get out what you put in.
heaps of features. Lots of bindings. Tilt and multi pressure buttons and a very intuitive interface for customisations. kind of sets the benchmark I think.
What a mouse the swiftpoint is. Honestly it’s insanely good. I use it for star citizen. The lift to select function means I can use it for ground fps and switch to new macros for flight. So so good. If you’re on the fence like I was just do it you will not be disappointed. I will say the size compared to other mouses specifically the mouse I used to use was hard to get used too but once I got used to it. Perfection.
Using this for Borderlands 4! Works awesome and I can map pretty much every control to it!
This mouse is outstanding, nicely built, great position for programmable buttons, great programming software. I'm a one handed 74 year old lifelong gamer. The mouse fits my use much better than other mice with small buttons on the thumb side.
Very much enjoying this mouse. It's perfect for a power user. The level of configurability is insane. My critique would be I wish there was more of a middle ground for templates. (As in drag n' drop templates per-button). Currently you either pick an existing program-level preset with the entire configuration baked-in or you have to rebuild every action from the ground up which can be daunting.
A very pleasant experience. Works better than I expected, with a few welcome surprises!
I am now on my 2nd ProPoint. It works exactly like the first, with one exception I'll mention shortly. It came with exactly the same acutraments. The nice zipper case and dangle. The first one I got was damaged in shipping. I emailed, sent a couple of images from the packaging and got a replacement with no problems. I had to get a new ProPoint because after the many years I'd had the first, the battery was aging and no longer had the stamina it once had, having to recharge it every couple of days. Now, the exception I mentioned is a major improvement. My first ProPoint did not function well with the Bluetooth connection. There seemed to be a big delay in reconnecting to the computer so I used the dangle. This new one, connects immediately on Bluetooth with virtually no delays so using the dangle is not necessary. Anyone with a newer laptop will understand when I say, this is a major improvement because I no longer lose a USB port to the dongle. So Bravo, Swiftpoint. Keep it up. I doubt this will be my last.
Solid case, protects well, has a built in cord wrap-thing (Can't remember the name for it right now), and overall feels high quality!
I was using the old one and after many years i changed it for the new one good job
Seriously, pressure sensitive buttons and a gyro make all the difference. I will never purchase a mouse without these features again. This thing is a game changer and I imagine every other peripheral manufacturer will soon be playing catch-up. If I could improve anything, it would be the ergonomics of the left and right tilt. The lack of any resistance while tilting makes it difficult to maintain a lean while aiming. It's not impossible but does require more dexterity than I had hoped. Regardless, this is the best mouse currently available.
Theses new grips made my Z2 feel brand new. If your grips are damaged or slipping, I recommend replacing them. I had gone way too long with the old. The support department (Ben Fletcher I believe) went above and beyond getting my new grips to me
At first, I was a little iffy about spending that much on a mouse, it felt like a lot to me. But I'm an avid gamer, and I knew I would use it basically every day.
I love all of the buttons, they all feel natural to use. It did take a little practice not to hit the knuckle buttons accidentally, but after the first couple days, I got used to it.
I love the tilt functionality! I didn't think I'd use it as much, but I found a place for it! I bound my music controls to this:
- Press right knuckle button = Play/Pause
- Pull right knuckle button + tilt right / left = skip track forward / back respectively
The mouse quality is great, all the buttons feel solid, the gyro is accurate, the little screen is nice for checking which mode I'm in, and all in all, I love that it's wired.
10/10 Amazing Mouse!
As a person who plays a lot of MMO'S and does a lot of work in CAD programs having a mouse that you can 100% customise has been such a blessing. With the software there's no pickup in transitions between different programs. It takes a bit to get used to all the different buttons but ones you do, you'll never want to go back to any other mice
As a new to kbm PC gamer, the Z2 has been a game changer. I struggled with remembering keys on the keyboard, but with all the available keybinds on this mouse, as well as it's ergonomic and intuitive layout, life has gotten so much easier
The Z2 Is So unique and so precise with its ability to tilt and its configuration that it opens a whole new door to.gaming!
I like to keep a backup for my favorite gaming mouse, because stuff happens, and I can't be out of action for a week waiting on a new one. Not that my Z2 seems fragile, by any means - it feels as solid as any quality mouse I've ever owned. But now I've gotten used to it, and bound my most important game actions to these cool new buttons, I don't want to game without it, even for a day!
Had to buy a new one because my nephew threw it across the room and cracked it. Gave the cracked one to my brother for him to use, since he frequently has to use a laptop in the car. This is hands down the best travel mouse in the world. Every time I take it out of my laptop bag, people are like, "Whoa! what's that?"
I love this mouse. It has changed my whole workflow. Its comfortable, accurate, and has amazing functionality.
